The adoption fee is $150 for all dogs/puppies:
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, heartworm test, primary vaccinations (including Rabies), de-worming, and current on heartworm prevention
The adoption fee is $100 for all cats/kittens:
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, negative FIV/Leukemia test, primary vaccinations (including Rabies) and de-worming.
On average we spend well over our adoption fee for each pet in our care.
The adoption fee goes towards a mere portion of our expenses incurred. Many of our rescues arrive to us in critical need of costly medical procedures; heartworm treatment, orthopedic surgery, and ophthalmologic surgery-just to name a few. Many rescued pets need behavior modification, and socialization skills. We go to great lengths to ensure the health and well being of each of our pets.
Want to adopt a dog?
We realize that good, loving homes come in all shapes and sizes---just like our dogs! "Pet-OK" apartments and condos, houses, farms, city, country or in between --are all acceptable depending on the individual dogs. We prefer that our dogs have indoor homes with regular supervised outdoor time. Regular routine veterinary care is required, as well as a proper diet and lots of love and attention.
If--AT ANY TIME OR FOR ANY REASON--you can no longer care for your adopted Sunny Meadows...Safe Haven for Pets pooch, you MUST return him/her to us IMMEDIATELY!!!
Here is the adoption procedure:
- Selection
- Size-Have you considered what size of dog best suits your available space and lifestyle? If you rent, does your apartment or home have stated size limits? (Landlord approval is required for renters)
- Age-Dogs of different ages have very different requirements (e.g. puppies and older dogs require extra care and attention). Be sure you know what the requirements are for the dog that you are interested in.
- Temperament-Does the dog have a temperament that would be suitable for your family?
- Compatibility- Is the dog recommended for children and other pets?
- Energy Level-Does your schedule allow for providing the amount of exercise recommended?
- Finalizing the adoption-Upon completion of the adoption contract and the adoption fee is made; you will receive the pet's medical records that we have established thus far. You will also receive a 5lb bag of food they are currently being fed, along with feeding instructions. Before any pet goes home, we examine them for any issues, as well as bathe, trim nails, clean ears, etc., All health records will indicate when vaccines were administered, as well as heart worm prevention, or other. Some pets will need follow up care immediately with a Veterinarian for suture removal from spay/neuter surgery. Some many require additional vaccines. All needed medical care will be clearly outlined for the adopter
We are available to answer any questions you may have about your adopted pet. These rescues of ours have made foot prints in our hearts and will forever be in our thoughts. Our goal is to help them (if ever needed) for the remainder of their life. If it is from illness or behavior or just a simple question you may have... please, never hesitate contacting us. Especially with updates and pictures of how they are now enjoying the good life!
