pawHello!

Can you believe that Sunny Meadows has been in operation for almost 8 years and this is our first newsletter?! We are very proud (and yes a little embarrassed!) that finally we are able to provide news and events for our friends. We hope you enjoy our newsletter and welcome your thoughts and opinions.

 paw DID YOU KNOW

Bi-monthly we have the privilege of a publication in Jabberblabber magazine. We answer questions from kids seeking advice about animals. Our alter ego is Oda May Jenkins. Pick up a Jabberblabber and check us out!

...........................................................

If you have an idea to increase our exposure and adoptions, please let us know! We need all the exposure we can get to find our rescues wonderful homes.

Our Simple Request...

We are diligently trying to reconnect with our adopters and their pets. Our "adopted" photo album makes our hearts smile.

We take the first step in rescue, while our adopters take the next step in providing a loving home. We love to receive updates and photos of all the lives we've touched (and all the lives that have touched us!)

We witness many horrific acts of cruelty, neglect and abuse.

When a difficult day is upon us, to flip through the adopted book gives us so much joy and inspiration. Without it, we would certainly turn our heads and fall apart.

Kind words, sweet stories and happy photos offer more inspiration to us than you can possibly imagine.

Please share your adoption updates with us!

Please Help Stop Puppy Mills

Most people do not know about puppy mills; what they are or how the operators of this grossly inhumane business profit from extreme cruelty to animals.

Please visit www.stoppuppymills.org to find out what you can do to help stop this prolific, evil, high-profit industry. Any time you see a puppy at a pet store being SOLD, you can be almost sure that dog is from a puppy mill!

News and Events

This summer a documentary group called Wandering Wenches came to Sunny Meadows. They are asking the question "How has the economy affected you?" and documenting stories of economic struggle, hope and perseverance. To find out more visit their web site: www.wanderderingwenches.com

Recently, Sunny Meadows had an opportunity to speak to the Plough Retirement Club. It was a great occasion to speak about our mission of saving lives of homeless animals. We thank everyone with the Plough Retirement Club for the invitation and opportunity.

Employee Pet Pick of the Month

Bo Bo

BO BO

Bo Bo has been chosen as Pet of the Month by staff member Katey McCabe.

Bo Bo arrived to Sunny Meadows Nov 07' and is approximately 5 years old. He loves squeaky toys, kiddie pools, and belly rubs. He is absolutely great with car rides. Bo Bo was an owner surrender. A neighbor convinced the owner to surrender Bo Bo and his companion to Sunny Meadows. Bo Bo was kept chained to a tree 24 hrs a day; no food, water, or shelter.

I choose Bo Bo because he has been one of my favorite dogs since coming to Sunny Meadows. He always makes any bad day good with just the look of his sweet eyes and happy smile. He truly is a loving dog! Bo Bo loves to give hugs when he sees you and never wants to let go. He must know how cute he is! Every time I walk by his charm makes me stop to say hello. Bo Bo has a very laid back, loving personality.

(Bo Bo is available for adoption)

We regretfully announce the loss of Mr. Steven Turman. Mr. Turman was an avid supporter of Sunny Meadows. He adopted his beloved pet Trixie from us many years ago and has remained our friend ever since.

Steven asked for all memorials in his honor be donated to animal welfare organizations world wide.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew his gentle and witty personality.
